There must be some serious inventory liquidation going on since these have been on sale most of the year via major retailers and the prices are getting lower and lower.

Sure can! If it is within 30 days, they will for sure honor it. Outside of 30 days is not their policy, but they usually do anyways. All able to be done on the costco website if you bought online. Just find yhe price adjustment page and follow the steps.

These compare well with Logitech Z-62x. I compared both and both sound great to an average non-audiophile. At higher volumes, I felt the Klipsch high end seemed noticeably sharper (harsher?). Klipsch pros are that it has two 3.5mm analog audio jacks (1 male, 1 female), a conveniently detachable volume control pod, slightly smaller sub-woofer, less expensive, and it looks a bit sleeker.

I got some Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-150M 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker from Adorama when they went on sale. I pair them up with an SMSL SA-300. They go pretty good. I had some of the Klipsch Bookshelf SpeakersCostco which go on sale too. Cheaper and good starting point for passive speakers.

Gaming headsets usually comes with the all important microphone when the user does online multi-player gaming. Secondly, do you really want your nephew disturbing the rest of the family with the Klipsch Promedia?

Get him the headset. He's going to want a headset even if you get him this speaker set.
