LOL, sorry to burst your bubble:

from Klipsch forum and tech support:

"Power consumption is less than a LED nightlight. They must remain on when not in use because they go into idle after 15 minutes." https://community.klipsch.com/ind...s-powered/
No power off switch, no stand by mode and the sub draw 16w of electricity. No thanks.
There must be some serious inventory liquidation going on since these have been on sale most of the year via major retailers and the prices are getting lower and lower.

This is the best price I've seen on these speakers and from Costco no less. I've had a pair for 5 plus years and they work fantastic. 60 dollars off.

Great speakers. I bought this for a bit cheaper at Walmart, but I would still definitely pay $70.

Sure no problem (technically you do have to go all the way to checkout to see price or "buy it now.")

Seems Amazon has been having more of these sneakier deals lately.

I believe if you have a Discover card there is also 5% CB on wholesale club purchases this quarter.

Normally if Costco is going to liquidate an item they put an asterisk on the top right corner of the price tag placard. However, the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Computer Speakers did not have one so Coctso will still sell the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Computer Speakers for the foreseeable future. My local Costco is overstocked with these Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Computer Speakers so hopefully when they get liquidated the price will be under $50.

Have mine for almost 10 years ago for $100 and it is still going strong. Want another but don't know what I will do with it. Highly recommended, especially at this price.

Measuring with kill-a-watt, my Klipsch drew 9.6W. I returned it due to the annoying humming from the sub.
Mine draws 17w on idle per my Kasa smart switch. I ended up setting auto-off at 7pm (that's when I'm done with my room every night) in case I forget to switch it off. Can't imagine paying $20 annually in electricity bills just to have this plugged in

Is there a good set of 2.1 speakers that has no / less frequent reports of buzzing or static noise?

theyve had multiple revisions. it's quite possible that these new ones are made with cheaper parts.

While these are still good speakers, they are nowhere near the THX-certified quality that they were 10 years ago. No power switch, digital amp, thinner non-removeable speaker wires, etc. So yeah they are only worth about this price.

I heard the newer models are no longer THX certified? Is this true?

Do you have a link for the switch you used?

Thank you
