If you want to avoid a sub, you want to spend more on floorstanding speakers instead of bookshelves.

I have some huge, 40+ pound floorstanding speakers in my main room, they still greatly benefit from a sub, especially for movie content.

If I could do it all over again, I'd buy better bookshelf speakers and two subs. This is what I learned from my garage system as the bookshelf speakers with 5.25 inch woofers generally blend well with a 12 inch sub in-room.

So my suggestion: for the price of the floorstanding speakers anyone is looking at, spend it on bookshelf speakers, speaker stands, and a sub instead.

Had these before and if I didn't go the wireless route, I'd buy a few pairs right now. I chose the infinity 162's because the center channel RC263 had rave reviews. I JUST hooked it up and love it so far as I didn't previously have the space to install it as is in my home because it's a beast

Can anyone comment on how these perform on the bass department? Rated @45 hz, do they perform well on the low end? Trying to avoid a sub in a 5.1 system.
For their size, they are amazing for bass. Many reviews will echo that assessment. Definitely punch higher than their weight class and outperform many larger speakers.

I remember a couple years ago when enthusiasts thought they were out of production and I saw some sellers putting them up on eBay for like $800. Now it looks like they will never stop making them hahah.

I had them before and they sound excellent. Look terrible though. :-)

These were only sorta on my speaker short list and I wasn't wanting to do a comparison right now but dang, for $250 I feel like I'd be an idiot for not at least trying them due to the free returns. Ordered and they'll be here on Wednesday, crazy fast. Sorry wifey, loud music is going to be played this weekend lol

Free returns? Wow, I think you convinced me. Are there any return fees?

What would be a good budget amp with Bluetooth that will power this?

Nope. I bought some Infinitys a few months back and the return process was as smooth as butter. https://www.jbl.com/returns.html [jbl.com] 10.1.1

These are great but it's worth mentioning that they're not near field speakers, so not good for a desk setup.

Depends a bit on how loud you will be listening to them. If you are going to be doing more near-flied stuff then you don't need a ton. What's your listening setup?10.1.1

I was hoping to use them for my desktop but maybe sitting back a bit of distance at times also.

SMSL AD18 or SA-300. But to be honest, cheaper to just get one of the 1Mii bluetooth receivers and pair it with the SMSL SA50 (same amp component of the previous two, but no BT or DAC). Lowest end I'd go is the B06, but there are the higher end models as well https://smile.amazon.com/s?k=1mii..._sb_noss_1

How would I connect the 1Mii Bluetooth receiver and interchange between Bluetooth and PC?

https://smile.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Transmitter-Receiver-Adapter-Headphone/dp/B07D1JJBJR/ref=sr_1_3?d... [amazon.com]

Grab this. You'd connect your PC to it via Line In. When you want to use your PC, set the switch to Bypass mode. When you want to use the bluetooth, set the switch to RX (receiver). They can also do transmitter mode (TX).

That or you could use bluetooth from your PC as well. In that case, you could go with the cheaper B06 models.

Other option for the same price is to get the SMSL AD18 used (it's $110+$6 shipping on amazon right now).

Longer term, if you have a lot of different devices (headphones, speakers, etc), it'd be good to grab a passive switch or go for a home theater receiver. JDS one is the best budget one https://jdslabs.com/product/ol-switcher/
