I buy my own synthetic oil and filter, take it to my local mechanic and he charges me $20 to do the job. If you have a full-auto service Walmart, their prices are reasonable too. Dealers and oil-change specialists are rip-offs.

I usually get this on Groupon ( full synthetic runs for $60). So check that out first if available in your location.

It won't even be from your car. They probably have a default dirty one nearby ready to show you how dirty yours is.

They took my cabin air filter out to show me how "dirty" it was then asked if I'd like to change it, I said no as it was basically brand new. They didn't put the filter back in my car .___.

I just bought a Groupon and got full synthetic done for $45. I used to go to Walmart but their pennzoil is not the best quality. But that's the second best at 43ish

I second what Seiken said and also, I don't really trust mechanics in general since they always try to screw you. A trustworthy mechanic is hard to find.

Oil change is probably the easiest thing you can do if you have a place to do it.

They took out my pcv valve to show it to me and then forgot to put it back on when I declined the service. I do my own work now or go to the dealer when I have coupons.
