and pulled the trigger for an inexpensive trip to Costa Rica
Southwest Rapid Rewards points are currently valued at 1.5 cents per "The Points Guy" website, or 1.6 cents each per Nerd Wallet.
Use Southwest's 'low fare calendar' and switch between pricing in points and pricing in dollars to find the best value. Sometimes you can get an equivalent value of 1.7 cents or more.

I will be on my 15th vacation next week with my 2021 CP. I lost count last year.
I suggest you start booking tickets.
For $100 you can get a $100 gift card and 5,000 points worth $77.50, so $177.50 total value or a gain of $77.50.
For $105 you can get 8,510 points worth $131.90 total value, or a gain of $26.90.
If that answers your question. The better deal is to buy Gc, not points

So I bought a $100 gift card with my Rapid Rewards card. Received the email with the card number and security code, and checked the balance.
Now is there a way to add this as a payment method on my Southwest account, so it's saved and I don't delete/forget about the email with the card information? Seeing where a credit or debit card payment option can be added, but not a gift card.
Thanks.
