How does this yield 6gbps when each port is maxed at 1gbps and there is only two ports. Shouldn't that be 2gbps max when using link aggregation? On top of that the datasheet from Netgear talks about docsis supporting 10gbps as if this router may do that too.

I've been lookin' at this for awhile now and this is a very good price. But I've never had a goodluck with netgear either with their routers or modems. So I jumped on the Motorola 8611 Front page last week. So far it's doing great at ~930mbps on a 1Gb tier service.

This is a good deal. I pay $100 on eBay for a Used one. So far its been working great. However, If I had a deal where I pay 20 bucks for a new one, I would have snatched that up instead. I did get lucky though in that the used one was never registered for the warranty service and Netgear allowed me to register it and it qualified for the warranty.

Question: I plan on replacing in a year with a Modem/Router combo. Should I get this for a 300mb Optimum service for short term or just get a cheap DOCSIS 3.0 modem (CM500 $47)?

Trying to decide between this or the CM1200. Netgear has the CM1200 for $179.99 , - 10% off for 1st time buyers. Not bad for $162. I may opt for the 1200. Will handle Gig service

Fyi I'm on 200 but bought this today. Considering the life of modem, price difference is negligible and allows flexibility of upgrading speed

I bought want one I hope it's better than the junk Hitron modem Spectrum made me switch over to.
I had an Arris DOCSIS 3.0 and they forced me on 3.1 and gave me their free crappy modem and it has automagically rebooted on me 2 times with in a week . Never ever had issue with Arris I hope Netgear is worth it.
