From my test, you cannot read the local stored clip video from the app ...

Your experience is very different from mine. I'm 20 miles from home, no subscription and have no issues viewing my clips.

Before the free trial ended for everyone and a subscription was then required the sync module wouldn't let users view the clips on the USB. I was a beta tester for the sync and have seen how it has worked with and without a subscription. Now that a subscription is required the app let's you view the clips from anywhere even without a subscription.

I have the wyze v3 and it looks awesome at night time , its way better than my Nest $130 cam

I'm not surprised. I've gotten a good look at the nest cameras and they literally look like google just ordered some cheap cameras off aliexpress and put their firmware and name on them. If you've ever seen the cheap yi cameras the nest ones look the same with just a different stand. Google did this before with their titan security key.

I offered 4 of them for free just pay shipping and no one has taken me up on it. Apparently you can't even give these things away. LOL!

I don't think anyone wants to go out and buy extra devices just so you can record without a subscription. At that point you are pushing probably close to 200 at that point you might as well get a security system. I wouldn't have purchased my blink I was under the assumption that the service was free with Amazon prime. 3 dollars isn't completely horrible but when you get 2 cameras and have to pay 10$ it's going to piss you off. So I understand why people say get a Wyze and put a sd card in it, even though if I was a thief I would steal your camera also.

my research showed lots of updates in the last 6 months so experiences have changed a lot since and viewing of local storage was added. Those with previous experience, please post when you played with it. Thanks

i ordered the 5 pack outdoor bundle w/ module, thinking of adding these also.

Yes and no. You can continue to live view, but it will ask you after so many seconds if you wish to continue live view. I have the wireless outdoor cameras as well so this feature ends up saving battery life. It is not really an asset for wired cameras like these Minis.

I've had Blink cameras for a couple of years (no sub) and they seem fine/good for their purpose.

For the people that take issue with no live, continuous feed, what are you viewing that you want such ability, that a short amount of "go live view now" wouldn't accomplish? I'd have hours and hours of nothing if I watched a 100% continuous feed but I just use it for front porch view and driveway.

Did you ever have or know a real camera surveillance system ?
the live view capture it is very important, Most yime your 5 seconds motion capture missed a lot of thing.
Yes, the Blink battery powered camera might be some solution to meet the lite needs for the first time user

Exactly my use case. If I ever find something that's worth recording in the live view (after getting the motion detected alert on my phone and tapping on the notification), I'll just use screen recording on my iPhone.

+1. His/her experience seems to be very unique. I'm curious why he/she still keeps this system if it's that limited/useless. Bitching about it in every Blink thread doesn't change a thing.

I think for the price, these are great little indoor cameras. Easy to install and use when you already have Blink going in your house. I'm happy with the quality to check on the garage door status and what's going on in the living room or family room with our pets.

I bought one of these about two months ago when they had a deal for $2.99
Like others posted, the camera is a little limited In terms of it's functionality.
I use it as a baby monitor and it works well.
