The High Sierra are available in all Costco outlets.
The High Sierra backpack from Costco is for a different purpose than this backpack. Been eyeing the Weekender bag, will give this a try for ~$30. Thanks for posting OP!
I actually copped this bag for a last minute impulsive 4 week trip to Thailand back in 2018. I couldn't justify the more premium equivalents at the time, and the bag held up fine even to this day. the only quality issue I had was one of the zipper handles snapped, remedied by a tied piece of string to the base zipper. packed to about 35 lbs it worked fine.
the bag was surprisingly comfortable on the back. coupled with modular packing cubes, this has a surprisingly massive volume capacity. that being said, the functionality and quality relative to price is what I would deem as grear value. however it definitely leaves some aspects to be desired: such as asthetics, compartment management, and overall bag weight (empty) is a bit on the heavier side.
Bought this bag 4 years ago for use with work trips and vacay. Just a bit of cosmetic damage, but you really have to be looking for it. It fits in the overhead bin on southwest flights with no issues. Favorite feature is the main compartment opens like a suitcase makes it easy to load. Worst feature by far was the included saddle bag strap which I wouldn't trust with any weight in the bag.

Just out of curiosity which zipper pull did you break and how did you break it? because when i purchased this bag years ago on one of the bag reviews I read on some site mentioned snapping the zipper pull off as well. I haven't been able to so much as bend the zipper pulls I'm assuming you must be a bodybuilder by trade.
This looks awesome but I use a smaller LL bean back pack as my under seat bag so I get a roller wheel luggage carry on to put in my overhead compartment space. This looks like it would be perfect if they stopped allowing under seat personal item space.

Or maybe the metal's quality used for the zipper is inconsistent
