I just returned one of these to Lowe's. All it seemed to do was to stun flies, it didn't kill a single one. It's really fun to use but completely ineffective. I tried plain old, regular table salt as well as courser salt. I REALLY wanted it to work and sat outside for hours hitting flies and, like I said, it was really fun, but it didn't kill anything even with multiple hits on the same fly.

I ended up getting the Black Fly 3.0 with bug beam for $43 on the https://www.bugasalt.com
website. I have a 2.0 and it doesn't have the killing power on even the smallest black house fly's. The 3.0 is supposed to be stronger.
That was with a 25% coupon they offered on the spin the wheel front page.

Finally on sale again!!! These are so much fun. I have the 1st model for about 5yrs now. I kill thousands of flies and bugs every year outside. Wife won't let me shoot in the house cause she doesn't want salt all over the house. I live outside the city near farms and vacant lands so being armed with this is far more effective than the fly swatter. Highly recommended. Sometimes I have to hit the fly 2 times but most of the time, one shot eradicates the fly. It won't kill a wasp with one shot, but if I spray a wasp with adhesive spray and it falls to the ground, this gun will split the body in pieces or squash it's head. Get it Slickdealers!!!!

Not my experience with one I have. It definitely kills them.

This is true, I literally have to be within 2 feet for it to be effective, any further and they get knocked back and just fly away.

Have literally torn flies and stinkbugs in half with this thing (ver. 2.0, anyway).. *shrug*

I feel like the build quality on these is spotty. I have one and like others have said it doesnt do anything even at point blank. That being said people I know swear by theirs and tell me they have no issue killing the biggest bugs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I can confirm this. I bought one and had some fun with it but it was completely ineffective in killing anything. Returned it and never looked back.

Got mine a few months ago to prepare for the spotted lanternflies this year.
