This is at least $100-200 off regular. GMG usually has no deals anywhere and let alone online purchase. I have 2 Jim Bowies. Amazing smoked food.

Are these made in USA? How's build quality compared to Weber grills (not pellet smokers)?

I have had my gmg for 3 years and use it 2-3 times/ week. It holds up great, better build quality than a traeger and good customer service. Haven't replaced any parts yet.

I have a "us stoves pellet smoker" from Amazon got on a really good deal. I moved last year and haven't installed natural gas for my Weber, so it's been sitting for a year. Hard to justify the spend $ , when I can get a better pellet smoker. Anyway, been looking for the "Weber" of pellet smokers... Like good build quality, doesn't warp.. etc..

I have a version of this grill that is one size smaller (Daniel Boone Prime). It's got a better build quality than the low-medium end Traegers, and a higher max temp. There are some great things about pellet smoking (control, mainly) but I came from a Big Green Egg, and for me the trade off was pretty drastic.

Also, if you make a lot of barbecue (pork, brisket, ribs) you just won't get the same smoke levels as you get from a Kamado-style cooker.

But if you're familiar with pellet smoking, this is a good choice for a mid-grade (really lower mid-grade) cooker.

GMG are legit, I've had mine for about 8years now. Replaced a couple small parts, no biggie, but the customer service is top notch. I had an issue with installing a part, so I emailed since it was a Sunday expecting to hear back in the next few days. Fifteen minutes later I get a phone call from a rep who had the same issue and walked me through it easily.

Had a traeger before and will never buy another traeger product. Within 2mos of a brand new grill, it would flame out constantly and eventually warped the steel so bad it was trash. GMG has been fantastic and I'll happily recommend them to anyone interested in a pellet grill. For reference of size, I can fit 9 racks of baby backs on the Jim Bowie

Green Mountain makes some of the best pellet grills out there. Their reputation is nearly spotless.

This is Costco's normal price, which is $200 cheaper than through GMG themselves.

I've used an older non-wifi version of the Bowie for years, and I can give it a pretty strong stamp of approval. Highly recommend.

I have this exact stove, as well as the Traeger Silverton (no smoke stack). I hate the GMG. It leaks grease from absolutly everywhere. The stack, the lid, the drain tray... Build quality is mediocre and on par with my Traeger. If it didn't leak I would put it as basically the same quality and performance as the Traeger. Had I had the choice... I would have bought 2 Traegers. STOP LEAKING PLEASE

youre looking for a Yoder. they are the only ones built in the US - there are Rec Tec's which are great but parts are manufactured in China and assembled in USA. Traegers are made in China as well as Green Mountains. All are good - for the money I'd go Rec Tec (i dont have one at the moment but work with them all the time and am getting one) I have a top of the line Traeger and love it also. Yoders look to be the best - but you'll pay for it being made and assembled in the US.

you wont go wrong with either but for the money i find it tough to beat the Rec Tec Bullseye $399 - and its a workhorse that can smoke low and slow or get cranked to 700F (you wont find more than 500-550 from any other pellet grill ive found). Its a bit smaller than this but can handle enough for a good size family. Other rec tecs are great too - the build quality is great from the ones ive tested and the customer service is awesome.

I hear great things about GMG customer service too - but the build quality is about on par with a mid-low range Traeger and IMO not that great. Top end Traegers are great but unless you spend $ with them, there are better choices.

The next time I'm in the market for a grill, I'll probably take a long look at GMG. For those in the market for a pellet grill, I currently have a Z Grill and while the grill has been alright (wild temperature fluctuations though), the customer service has been absolutely horrible and impossible to get a hold of.
