If you have Google play money to use, google has it for $10 more. I have $80 in there from surveys so for me it works out.
Surveys?

If you buy specific games then you can play them without being a subscriber. If you subscribe then you get access to some additional games as part of the subscription plus some additional streaming features like 4k vs HD.

At least that's my understanding. I don't subscribe but bought the Cyberpunk deal and got Crew2 for ~$3 and overall the experience has been great.
What's for free though?

I read somewhere that stadia will be on the new Google TV with remote soon. If so, do I still need to pick up a stadia controller to play it? Or can a ps4 or Xbox or other generic controller be used? On the other hand, can this stadia controller be used on ps4 or Xbox consoles or pc, or is it not compatible and only usable for Google stadia ?
Found controller requirements. Seems like In chrome everything is compatible, but on TV only the stadia controller is available. I wonder if that would change with the new chromecast with Google TV, I guess it's anyone's guess right now. https://support.google.com/stadia...8631?hl=en

Which version of destiny 2 is it? I read there are many versions or expansions that keep coming out. I assume it's the original base game that's free to play with stadia without subscription?
I believe it's just the base game for free and then you have to pay for expansions. My kid plays it so I'd have to ask him.

How much did you pay for the "you tube premium and cyberpunk deals"?
The deal for Cyberpunk was buy the game for $60, get CC Ultra and controller for free. If you had an active YouTube Premium subscription active, you were eligible to claim a free CC Ultra and controller just for having YouTube Premium.

Not sure if this is what your are asking...

If you subscribe then there are games that you can play as part of the subscription. Then you can buy games and can play them with or without a subscription.

I'm sure there are free demos and free weekends too you can try.

All they did was stop making exclusive games for it, which is and was always an incredibly expensive ambitious thing to do. Everyone who responded to the news of Google giving up on the idea and assumed therefore Stadia as a whole must soon also be about to become abandonware just doesn't understand the gaming industry.

Cloud gaming is the future of the market and Google would be idiots to abandon Stadia which actually works better than its competitors. There's a reason everyone, Sony, MS, Nvidia, even Amazon, are in on cloud gaming.
Cloud gaming relies on your internet provider not charging you up the butt. You could easily spend 50 bucks more a month if you go over your cap. You are also going to pay 30-40% more on top of that for a console plus more per month to host the datacenters.

for casual gamers tho this may make sense.

I just want to add that I use Stadia and it truly is flawless for me, with a wired, uncapped, 400mbps connection, though that speed isnt necessary, only low latency (4-5ms ping and 1-2ms jitter when i ping Googles servers).

For example, I have gotten all A side and C side golden strawberries on Celeste (I play mostly on PC now because of mod levels) and had no issues. I just wanted to chime in that if you are able to have a wired connection, you can truly have a console like experience.

Recently I have been playing/have completed Celeste, Destiny 2, Kona, Trine 4, the Monster Truck game, Blue Fire, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Ember, Jedi Fallen Order, Serious Sam 1-4, and a bunch of other games on Stadia. I play quite a bit on my phone with a Bluetooth controller too, and on my PC with a Stadia controller, but mostly on my big 4K screen with wired Chromecast and Stadia controller and I frankly forget I'm even relying on a network at this point.

If you haven't tried it yet/not sure if you should buy this, just sign up for it and play with your computer and a Bluetooth controller (use wired Ethernet for your computer if you can). Use an incognito tab or Microsoft Edge and see if it works for you.

And most importantly, have fun!

This is a good deal, but do you need paid subscription? Are there any free games to play?

Edit: It can't be used in the store (I thought it used to be but I could be wrong). Either way, you do short surveys (under 30 seconds each) and get between $0.10 and $0.50 each. I currently have $80 with rewards expiring 1 year after issue with over $200 earned overall. You can sign up through their app https://googleopinionrewards.page.link/share.

They're still pushing this garbage?

Nobody should ever buy a Stadia for any reason ever.

TD
I love it. Don't have a gaming PC and still get to play games like Madden and RDR 2. Very low cost to get started. Was using an old console controller initially before getting this premiere bundle.

Since typical gaming pings are 20-30, you must be on the same network as google. Not a very common connection.
