I have this, got it refurbished directly from Sun Joe last year for $90 shipped and it was like new. Does a great job, have big fist sized rocks in our soil and have to stop to hammer them out once in a while and it keeps going strong. Solid purchase IMO.

I bought this little over a year ago and I am really surprised how good it does tilling up the dirt even with it compacted it really loosen it up pretty easy. Also has a lot of torque to it which is good and for the price I can't knock it. Hope this helps

I've had mine for three years now, great little machine. Don't listen to those who suggest in the reviews to add extra weight on top. Just deal with the "jumpiness" and don't overload the motor.

Paid this price for it in Aug of 2016 - it has done a great job since then of tilling some very compact and rock ridden soil. Only aggravation is pulling the thicker roots out from between the rotors.

Yes but first you need to use your spade shovel to cut the sod so that it's loose enough for the tines to get down into the soil.

I have the 603 and it's powerful so I'm sure this is even better. Mine pulls big rocks bigger than I expected it too. I had a rock get wedged and had to pull one side of the blades which gave me trouble getting the bolt out. Overall very good product.

Do you need to wet your soil or anything before tilling? And then afterwards you put down sod?
