If you're itching to buy, then pull the trigger on this. Pneumatic trim nailers go on sale regularly. Higher probability of grabbing this and later finding a slick deal on a trim nailer than waiting and finding both together. IMHO

I have this compressor. It's heavy, loud, and the gauges don't work. But I have framed a house, built a few decks, a couple of wood sheds, and done a bunch of trim work with it. It still runs strong. If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably opt for the Rigid.

If you don't need a high volume air compressor, do yourself a favor and get one of the quiet models. I can use mine day/night in my town home with the garage open.

If I already have something to inflate tires, is this not worth getting for a home owner?

Depends on if you have a need for it. If you don't need anything more than tire inflation then I wouldn't.

It can also be used to blow out sprinkler lines for winter (it will take much longer than with a big compressor, but it will work).

I use nailers (brad/finish) with mine a lot for hobby woodworking, putting up trim and repairing the fence. Pneumatic nailers are both lighter and cheaper than battery powered ones.

Which is better product Porter and Cable or Craftsman? Both seem to sell at same price point.

Both are solid units though the Ridgid is reviewed slightly better. Ridgid regular price is usually $30 more than Porter Cable. Advantages of Ridgid are that it has 3 year warranty (PC 1 year) and has a quarter turn drain valve (PC has a screw Schrader drain valve which can be a pain to open under pressure). Ridgid is rated 1.5hp vs PC's 0.8hp but it doesn't seem to make a practical difference. SCFM pretty much the same - 2.6scfm at 90psi.

I am planning on replacing all the base boards in my house in 2022 if lumber prices drop. Should I just wait to see what deals black Friday brings and try to get the nail guns included?

Right now HD has the version with the basic hose and 3 nail guns included for $199: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Porte.../312030570

It's actually a good deal given how prices have been the past 2 years. I bought this same bundled version for $150 on sale 6 years ago but the last time I saw that happen was 3 years ago. I just bought a Ridgid to replace the PC because the air regulator on the PC started leaking after 2 years and has been getting progressively worse over the past 4 years. Nail guns are still solid.

I read somewhere, that all these are made by the same manufacturer just rebranded.

Planning on doing a bathroom remodel, which will require a little bit of framing.

Haven't used nail guns before - just old fashioned hammer and nails. Will the 16/18 gauge be good for framing?

No! You would need a framing nailer. 16/18 gauge is for finish carpentry, also known as trim.

No you'll need a round head framing nailer. They are pricey. Amazon has a NuMax for $86. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0032JTDPO/

I have this Husky combo: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky.../205946157
