If you're itching to buy, then pull the trigger on this. Pneumatic trim nailers go on sale regularly. Higher probability of grabbing this and later finding a slick deal on a trim nailer than waiting and finding both together. IMHO

I have this compressor. It's heavy, loud, and the gauges don't work. But I have framed a house, built a few decks, a couple of wood sheds, and done a bunch of trim work with it. It still runs strong. If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably opt for the Rigid.

If you don't need a high volume air compressor, do yourself a favor and get one of the quiet models. I can use mine day/night in my town home with the garage open.

No it does not.
I got this one from Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hyper-Tough-3-8in-x-25ft-PVC-Air-Hose-and-10-Piece-Quick-Starter-Accessor... [walmart.com]

It is cheap ($12.88), decent quality considering the price, and it works perfect for me. It also comes with a 25 foot 3/8" air hose.

I have a quiet one I purchased from Lowe's (it is tagged as such), a Kobalt model, and it is VERY quiet. I could be standing next to it running in a closed garage and still hold a conversation (no joke). What do you give up to go quiet? Quite a lot actually, but my needs are very limited. Mine has a 2 gallon capacity so far less. It is also heavy at 46 pounds and it has a lower CFM rating. If you can live with that, go quiet. If not you'll need to get one like this and put up with the noise.
A nice thing about the CAT 5510A I have is it doesn't give up much to the PC in exchange for quiet. Thanks to the aluminum tank (the A in the name) it weighs about the same as the PC (36lb). The flow rate is the same. The lower tank pressure means less overall stored air. It also costs more.

Own this for around the house. Tires and occasionally Brad nailer. Works great.

The manual for these no longer mentions running them for 15 minutes to break in. I wonder why they changed that?

Gauges work fine on mine, it's a damn good compressor, a bit noisy but I've had mine for over ten years, and I'm a retired carpenter and I have put this to a lot of use. Remember to drain it occasionally, the tank retains water from use

Porter Cable, Craftsman, Bostitch, and DeWalt (all Stanely B&D owned brands) 6-gallon pancake compressors are all more-or-less the same thing. Just buy whatever color you prefer...
Complete BS. Bostitch is several lbs lighter, quieter, and runs at 150 psi, Dewalt is 165 psi. Both yellow, but different products. If you're buying tools based solely on color, then you're probably going to run into a lot of problems when doing projects.

Ridgid for $9 more: https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/15085375
I've used both this and the ridged heavily, no question to pay $9 for the ridgid one imo.

I've got this. It's nice to have, but for me at this point as a home owner just doing smaller maintenance jobs, If I could do it again, I'd likely just get a lithium ion battery powered brad or pin nailer.

but thats only 1% of its use. people dont buy air compressor for nailer. infact i dont see any homeowner use nailer for any project. except for contractors.

which is a better prodcut? the Ridgid deal or the Porter Cable?
Per specs, the Ridgid has more power with 12 amps, 15.5amp cold start and 1.5HP, whereas the Porter Cable is at 10amps run and 0.8HP.

Although the CFM's are identical, if the specs are correct, the Ridgid has almost twice the HP with a maybe 3 year warranty to PC's 1 year.

The reality is, they need tested side by side... because it is possible the PC has a more efficient compressor that requires less HP....
