Best part of USVI is St. John island. Stay a day or 2 in St. Thomas and spend most time in St. John. You can ferry the rental car from one island to another, just know the terminal ferry operating schedule. If you visit neqr 4th of July there is also a carnival, which is fun. Had visited 2 years ago, loved it. Also remember, you will drive left hand steering cars(american style cars) on the opposite side, i.e. on the left side of the road (british style).

Other than beach/swimming activities, what's there to do?

I read above post says it s us territory then why car steering is on the opp side?

Because it's part of West Indies/Caribbean and the whole regions drives like British there. It's just odd for the first few miles and then you get used to it. Not a big deal, in my opinion.

But I personally recommend St John. We had an excellent week there. Serene and peaceful.

St Thomas is more like Cruise Destination. It of course has its own set of things to do and more restaurants and eateries unlike St John though.

As I mentioned, steering is on the left but you have to drive on the left side of the road as well (like in japan, UK or Aus). Why its like that, I dont know. But its not that hard, its slightly confusing for a day or 2 after getting back home.

Do I need a passport or driver license is fine for flight since its US territory? I still haven't obtained the real ID thing cuz it's requirement has been postponed until May 3, 2023. Thanks.

Just got back from St. John - had an awesome time! Beautiful beaches, clear water, no commercial eateries! From a COVID sense, I felt safer than in the US.
