Also, this is just the accommodations. You would still be on the hook for airfare, activities, and food (which I have heard prices are insane). This looks to me like a teaser entry to an escalator... a vacation easily totalling $12,000 or more.

No problem… I got my Kardashian vaccine months ago… good to go…
And don't even think of dropping you drawers…. There's a jail for that…
That said, people dont have to spend $1000/day to get a resort experience. Resorts can be had for as low as $300/day for two people (little children are included often for free) all inclusive for lower end of the spectrum -- you will still have an experience of lifetime. With transfer and plane tickets, it might come close to a bit of middle tier cruise experience in US. If you are planning to spend that amount of money ($5k for a family of 3 for a week) on a vacation, the main question is whether you want to fly close to 24 hours (airport stops/transfer included) to get there. 5 star airlines or not, it is an exhausting journey.
Seriously, would love to get in on this if I could get away this year. Too much work atm.
We're usually more into adventure traveling so this "relax at the beach" vacation style may not be a good fit. Still, 4.7k for 5 days @ 5 star hotel, meals included, is crazy cheap.
Our recent trip to Seattle, hitting 3 national parks over 8 days, were a bit over $5k already.

I was joking but we actually did this on our first trip to Europe (about 12 yrs ago). I heard food was expensive so I loaded up half a suitcase worth of instant ramen.
Got there, food was fairly expensive (partly due to bad exchange rate back then) but doable so we dumped the ramen and enjoyed our time. The worst was London. It was hot (summer) and I needed some ice. They don't usually serve ice so I bought a Coke to get a cup of ice. Gave the dude a $20 usd bill and he gave me 5 euros back in coin.
If you're looking for a great deal, go to Hungary by way of Paris. Hungary and surrounding countries are much cheaper than western Europe and are better IMHO. Less crowded and touristy. Tons of night life, history, culture, awesome food (Michelin starred level at $25/entree).
For beaches, hit Croatia (King's landing is there).
Why Paris? It's one of the cheapest European hubs available. You can do 1 or 2 nights in Paris as stopover to say you've been there and to minimize costs.
Also expect to spend $100 min for each dinner.
But it was an amazing experience. Well worth it.

Which parks did you go to? I'm looking into Yosemite and Yellowstone rn
Virgin islands, Turks & c, Bahamas can be hit and miss, but there are some amazing areas there etc.
The only thing I don't think is close are those glass bottom over the water villas.... Does anyone know the closest one?
Ask yourself what you would be happier with on your death bed. I like both of those but i know theyre more projects than hobbies. People like us are always on the grindstone. Take the trip and get a new look at life. Magbe itll gove you some extra motivation when you come back.
