Absolute Batman: The Killing Joke (30th Anniversary Edition) includes both the recolored art by artist Brian Bolland and the original colors by John Higgins, along with the never-before-published scripts, and numerous Batman and Joker sketches and stories by Bolland.
One of the pinnacle Batman/Joker stories- but a short one, the original was 48 pages.
And man they filled this with a lot of extraneous material to try and make an absolute edition- Two colorized versions, original script, art covers, and then some single issues in other runs (which I am not familiar with, but which I guess, reference events of Killing Joke?) to get to 152 pages.
That said, it is the only way to see this amazing story in an oversized edition.
And though I thought having two different colored versions of the art was just a cheap way to double up, but the difference in the artwork is actually very striking and fascinating to see/read.
Reasonably priced- and even better, right now it qualifies for Target's Buy 2 get 1 free movie/book/game deal going on.
