But you make it sound like refurbished is some sort of no brainer buy. There's a reason refurbished is significantly cheaper. Pre-owned with all the qualities that brings.
I've had two of these and they didn't last, which is unfortunate because they work well out of the box.

Looks like $9 on eBay.
Good thing Kohls doesn't have a cut off date on its return policy. If it breaks in 6 or 12 months from now, I can just return it... but lets hope its doesn't 🤞
Not sure I'd rely on the limited comments here to make my decision and would read the thousands of reviews on Amazon, Kohls or Bissell…. I don't know what it is about SD, but the forums here are some of the most negative on the web. And as I said in earlier comments, my first one lasted 5 years; I've been using a refurb model for about 6 months. I have no idea what people are doing to "break" them.
One time use: EE3RTZSNCCFMT
this is a unique 1 time use code I believe, and expires tomorrow. Comment if you use so I can cross it out.

I bought one of these for at retail, I think it was north of $200. We use to wash our tile floors that are around 1200SF, once a week. You don't HAVE to sweep before using it, but I recommend sweeping with a broom and then using this to wash your floors, especially if you have dogs. All the dog hair that this thing suck up otherwise makes it a pain to clean. Have had our for about a year now. It does a great job and is better than the Hoover floor washing machine.
Clean this thing out everytime you use it. Can't comment on using this on carpet. I have a real vacuum for that.

The one thing I really dislike about the CW is the filter has to be constantly cleaned. If you wait, it gets a bad odor from all the bacteria and sludge build up.

The problem most people have with the Crosswave is that they aren't willing to put in the extra few minutes to properly clean out their machine after use. It's not like a vacuum where are you can wait to clean it out "next time."
I accidentally forgot to do this once, left it sit for a while and ended up getting a new filter.
It's not the crosswave's fault, anything with water would have similar requirements,
I want a $5 Amazon GC.
