5 years later, we may not be able to benefit from slave labor Wink Besides, $1 a year for the convenience of being a hero [ i.e., helping urself/people fix something at a moment's notice ] is not a debilitating investment.

true - still should be fine for casual uses. got some $6 impacted ones from lowes a while back, the $6 ones is noticeably better in bit quality but with the hated bit holder.

case is great - interchangeable with the yellow dewalt

Put both cases side by side. You can clearly see that they did not come out of the same mold.
I don't have either. Only so much you can tell from a product shot.

They should make at least half of the bits P2. I don;t know anybody who uses the other sizes regularly. Waste of money.

I haven't seen the DeWalt box but I bought some of the Lowes clearance bit sets.

The rubber bit-holder strips won't fit in the Craftsman box. The Craftsman strips have dovetails molded in while the DeWalt strips have simple grooves.
I got mine today. The rubber strips in my DeWalt and my Craftsman are interchangeable and the cases stack perfectly. My DeWalt has the dovetails you're talking about, so maybe it's a newer thing because I bought my DeWalt set a couple months ago.

Nah. They should just they rid of the Robertson, nut drivers, and slotted. Make them all Torx and some Phillips for people like you.

There is a world of difference between wages that you wish were higher, and slavery.

Agree about the Robertson bits, they never were a standard in the USA. I bought a Edsal shelf unit last week that used the slotted machine screws, so you still need slotted bits.

The newest cases with clear covers have no rubber parts in them. They have black plastic bit holders that interchange between both brands. The cases also lock together. The outer dimensions of the case is about the same, however the shape of the corners and ribs are completely different. The Craftsman has four hinge pins, and the Dewalt has three hinge pins. The bits inside are different.

Sure, but everybody's got them right? Or at least people have screwdrivers. They don't work all that well in drills anyway.
