Of course, a deal shows up right after I buy one! I was holding out and ended up getting the DWS780. I haven't seen a deal since January for either the 779 or 780.

Did you pay full price for that 780? I couldn't do it ... lol but I did just buy a Bosch T4B stand as well... today has been costly

My old one is on its last legs and been looking for a replacement (Turns out it doesn't like cutting that much HardieTrim cement board). Searching around and I found a "great" deal on another site, however site seems a bit sketchy for my tastes though. Prolly stick with fleabay/CPO outlets... Cant go wrong there.

No I didn't, lowest price was at HD, and that was stock. I had a $25 off coupon so made the deal slightly better. Seems like the best stand out there in that price range however.

Highly suggest people consider the Hercules clone of the 780 at Harbor Freight. I shopped for a while and decided to give it a shot. Could not be happier with it. Square right out of the box and cuts like butter.

Maybe you can shop around and find a better deal, but if you add this OEM XPS shadow light kit [mmtoolparts.com] that fits several models, but installed on the OP DWS779, you will have a 780 for much less money.

And yea, buy the wire harness for a plug and play.... here is a video [youtube.com] for how to. Who knows, maybe you will even get to use the 20, 25 and 30 Torx bits that came in the bit set deals sold everywhere before Christmas.

779 availability is seasonal. Father's Day and the holidays are basically the only time you'll find stock for them.

I got a returned one from Direct Tools Outlet that was mint, during their January 25% off sale.

Just upgraded to have the light, I highly recommend it. There is functionally no difference between mine and a 780, and it cost $300 less.
