Rates have dropped the past few years due to Southwest Airlines entering the HI market.

We are looking for our first trip to HI - does LIH or OGG airport destination matter ?

Which is better for the vacation traveler ?

Hawaii is not even racist, what are you talking about??

Anyways, Hawaii is always going to be expensive. As a result I probably will never travel there ever again. If I don't like living nor traveling to San Diego, why would Hawaii be anything different as far as my experience goes?

Yeah, there are big differences in each island. Ogg Maui is more developed than lih Kauai. Depends on what you're wanting from your vacation experience. Research research research.

I was reading some comments regarding the rental car shortage and WOW! Residents sure hate tourists even though they rely on tourism dollars. People should just boycott Hawaii and see how long they can survive without tourists. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Cancun is a much better deal. The people there welcome your business and are super friendly. Treat them with respect and they go above and beyond for you.
I just came back last month and besides tour services, everyone else seemed annoyed or rude and I assume it's from the tourist. Also I think being short handed as most business don't have enough people working. The Marriot I stayed at didn't have valet services as I was told workers never came back and they couldn't find people to work.

No one wants to work until the extra $300 Fed Unemployment ends in Sept. They should just end it now, so people get back to work. The pandemic is over, unless you are dumb enough not to get a vaccine.. Uber/Lyft and restaurants and lots of other place won't find enough workers until then.

Find this deal on SW, so you get 2 free bags! That's the slick deal, we got $140 each way from San Diego.

They dont hate tourists , they hate mainlanders . Theres a strong independence movement specially on the Big Island. I dont blame them tbh. From Mark Zukerberg to Larry Ellison and many others they all just took from them and never gave anything back. On Lanai for example locals can barely move on around because of the closures . and each island is just fed up with everyone taking while they get nothing
Also read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thi...e_protests [wikipedia.org] to see why they dont like tourists on the Big Island.
Independence? I'm sure they'll be find without the billions of dollars injected through the military spending and the military subsidized infrastructure. Look at all the other pacific islands living on tourism. That seems much better, right?

MIne was $3k for 16 days for July. Only $1k for 2 weeks in April.

I've never been to Hawaii. What is it like the summer? Super hot and humid?
No it's 84 year round +/- with low humidity, pleasant year round. Planning on moving there for my 5-yr plan. 80 in FL, forget it, humidity 90% feels like hell
