Not a real bargain.

HD sold similar package with 3.0AHr battery for $99. I returned it not because of battery, but a charger.

Charger is economized version of regular Makita charger, no fans hence Makita's engineer designed charging at lower amperage, or they might justify reduction of charger fans to people who don't care for longitivity (battery's life charging cycle) of battery life. My guess is that Makita would use same charging scheme, producing same charging current, but with sacrificed battery life.
