Far Cry 3 is the best in the franchise for many people. Myself included. The classic edition solves pretty much all of the performance problems from the Xbox 360 version. Digital Foundry has a great video on the improvements. It will still run at 30FPS however (even on Xbox Series X|S). Perhaps Microsoft will bring FPS Boost to it soon like they did for Far Cry 4.

Overall though this game is more than worth a play through for $3.

Love the far cry series, really excited and looking forward to the new one specially with another breaking bad actor. Buy this its definitely one of the better games in the series.

Ubisoft is the master of making you do tedious tasks and make you addicted to it. Solid game but I think there was room to do more with the villain. He was mostly in the background on speakers or something. You meet him like maybe 3 times for the full length of the game. A shame as he was a pretty cool character.

Probably the best Far Cry of all, good memories.. spent countless hours clearing the camps over and over just for fun.

The amount of screen tearing on the 360 made me nauseous. Is this the same thing or better?

I prefer FC4 then this, but these are the two high points. Too bad they made a poor choice for the main villain in the second island.

FYI to game finishing procrastinators like myself, it doesn't recognize Xbox 360 saves - so you'll have to start over from scratch with this edition.

So even though I own this from the Far Cry 5 DLC, I keep playing my backwards compatible 360 version because there's no way I'm starting over after all these years of stopping and starting playing it.

Eh... they're always on sale, so unless you have time to play them all back to back, you may as well just get Far Cry 3 for now. They're all separate stories/adventures with different protagonist and antagonists, but roughly all structured with the same game play mechanics.

4 adds the grappling hook thing and has mountains to scale.

5 lets you hire specific helpers to join you, whether that be a dog, sniper, air support from a pilot, etc. It also allows you to fly an actual airplane and helicopter, not just the gyro-copter thing from 4. I don't remember if 3 has any air vehicles to get around quickly.

Not really a huge fan of the series but I did love this one and blood dragon. Didn't get into four when my brother lent it to me
