Far Cry 3 is the best in the franchise for many people. Myself included. The classic edition solves pretty much all of the performance problems from the Xbox 360 version. Digital Foundry has a great video on the improvements. It will still run at 30FPS however (even on Xbox Series X|S). Perhaps Microsoft will bring FPS Boost to it soon like they did for Far Cry 4.

Overall though this game is more than worth a play through for $3.

If u have Far Cry 5 and get the season pass or gold edition of far cry 5 u get far cry 3 for free with it. I had not played it for PS3 so it was nice that it was included

I have this on ubisoft for my pc.. But it's pretty buggy

In regards to your thoughts, yes, this is an excellent game & still one of my absolute favorites in the franchise--especially FC3 Blood Dragon! Can't go wrong spending $3 on this gem of a gaming experience. I hope you enjoy it as much as many of us did Smilie

what made me nauseated is the amount of camera bobbing and first-person cutscenes where there is too much sudden camera movement. found out after i bought every single far cry game, and apparently that's a common theme.. it's one of the very few games that gave me motion sickness. another one was Rage, but i was able to disable camera bobbing on that one.

Get the bundle, 4 and 5 are easily worth that alone. and usually are priced around there.

How important is playing the first two in the series to enjoy/understand this game? Is each game for the most part independent like the Nathan Drake collection, or will I have issues with gameplay if I jump right into #3? For clarity, I haver never played or seen any of the Far Cry games. I havent even looked at footage yet, but the $3 price tag has me looking

Bad port from pc with on ice aiming. We pc gamers complained for years and ubi ignored us to fix it but 3rd party apps u can do yourself but console hell nah. Like shooting ice while wearling cubes on feet.

Was going to say the exact same thing. I haven't played 5 but from 1-4, 3 is easily the best IMO. Vaas (pictured in the cover art) is also possibly my favorite villain in any video game ever. A steal at $3

So, I've never played the Far Cry series, but I've heard good things about it, and was thinking of trying it out (and I've been intrigued with the cover art for FC6). For those that have played the series, would you recommend FC3 as a good place to start for a Newb to the series, or should I go back and try to start with FC1/FC2 for more of the backstory? Appreciate the thoughts/suggestions. šŸ‘
