Far Cry 3 is the best in the franchise for many people. Myself included. The classic edition solves pretty much all of the performance problems from the Xbox 360 version. Digital Foundry has a great video on the improvements. It will still run at 30FPS however (even on Xbox Series X|S). Perhaps Microsoft will bring FPS Boost to it soon like they did for Far Cry 4.

Overall though this game is more than worth a play through for $3.

If you've never played the game then I highly recommend it. If you're like me and have played this game to death multiple times, then it may not be worth the grind. It's the pc port that's only slightly improved over the ps3 and xbox360 versions.

Far Cry 3 is a gem in the series, 4 and 5 get continuously more bloated and overstay their welcome, but 3 is just about right.

Same engine and they were close enough release wise that you probably won't see a huge jump in visuals from 3 to 4 on console hardware.
