I haven't listened to the Infinity 263. Based on what others have discussed, the Infinity may be better for music, and the JBL for home theater.
My experience is with older JBL and Infinty speakers, and I have had 3 of each brand in different uses, but all mainly music. And all JBL's I have had do harsh out on the high end while Infinity with the Polycell tweeters, vs the JBL Titanium are very smooth. But, new speakers maybe doing things different and you really just have to put them through the paces of break in, then high volume testing and such. A lot of people love Klipsch, but they are also harsh on detailed highs. Infinity, Paradigm, KEF are much better to my ears as harsh one not only fatigue listening, but they actually distort in sound in my ears.

I'm referring to JBL's 500 series which have compression drivers using Teonex instead of titanium. I agree that titanium tweets are harsher, but that's not used in the current JBL lineup.

Sounds like JBL has switched it up and gone with something smother. Another factor I have liked about Infinity, and I am not sure on JBL, but I would guess they would be around equal is the sensitivity dB rating. I used to love my ADS or even some 4ohm speakers, but buy am I loving the ease to listen not only at low levels, but also easily getting them up in volume.
