3000k is pretty dim. I have one that has a range and 4000k is like barely above night light. U will need 6700k to light a room up. I can't imagine using 3000k. Great if u want to shine light on a picture on the wall but useless for reading.

However it is very chic in design and easy to assemble. Durability is suspect but is nice if it can last two years or more. Many claim it dies in a few month.
Color temperature is not a measure of brightness, but rather the color (yellowish warm or bluish cold)

?
the 3000K is the color temperature. got nothing to do with the brightness.

that said, this is a 20W LED, which output around 1500-2000 lumens (didn't specify in the product page). this could be sufficient for someone people's need.

Ok I was ignorant. I looked at two I had they were 25w and 24w. They are decent and rated 2000 lumen. This is said to be 2000 lumens but using 20 watts. Is it assumed to be more efficient or is there inconsistencies when claims are made for different bulb types? Does it mean this bulb is better because it can illuminate 2000 lumens using only 20w?

Bought 2. With my others had to ask for replacement so definitely check to make sure they work.

You most likely will have a longer lasting LED bulb that is 100 lumen's per watt.

You were not wrong. I find that 3000 k is not very bright but 5000k is. But this varies as our eyes and brain do not measure light the same. I replace a 800 lumen bulb that was warm white 3000k with a daylight 5000k that is also 800 lumen and the room looks much brighter to me. For others they see it dimmer. If I have four bulbs I will have one warm white and the other three daylight and I see things better.

Now a high CRI is also important though I can not find it on this light. I have found warm white with a high CRI that also seemed bright. For a single light a high CRI and 4000k I prefer.

Like this would be great for a kitchen ceiling light:

This looks like it's worth getting, but I really need some torchieres that I can use with my Echo wall outlets. Those are tough to find.

Because it's a completely different type of lamp?

The problem with the OP's lamp is that it doesn't cast light under the lamp. That may suit some needs but for general lighting it's not good. This is why it's 50% off.

Been using this lamp for a year. Two of them will light up a room of that size pretty nicely.

I ended up with this one that goes up to 7000k temp with more lumens. Unfortunately it has one bad issue with it. It works with smart plugs and light switches but has a 1~3 seconds delay when turning it on according to reviews. It's going back if I can't stand it.
