"Not reliable at all Incoming calls go straight to voicemail and the phone doesn't ring, if you are lucky enough to have the call go through at all. Most calls simply don't connect ever. Contacted support several times and no improvements."
"This app is a joke. What good is it when you can't make or receive calls??? This happened for about a month last year, now the problem is back."
So there are things like google voice, text now, text free, and then there are actual providers of SMS\voice like Mint, Simple, etc.. many authenticator services require the later, so I'm curious which this shows as to those services.
Just set up a line with voip.ms. They have very low pay-per-minute plans or a $4.25 unlimited plan. Pair that with groundwire app for push notifications of incoming calls (saves battery), and you still haven't paid any more than this, but you get real service and support.

Why not just use textnow? It is even free. I don't see differences..
I have been using Textnow for a while now. Switched to the GSM T-Mobile sim and connecting to 5G signal down here in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Paying $20 a month for 2GB of data monthly to avoid ads and phone number expiration.

are you saying for instances where a website txts you a verification code, hush is able to receive these?
Hushed numbers are not guaranteed to work with 3rd party verification services and cannot be used for 911 emergency calls
i have never had a problem with hushed in getting those verification texts (E.g. type in the 6 digit code, etc). (other voip type services, pinger, textfree, etc never work for those, unless you pay extra for premium)

Huge pass.
I've been using Talkatone for years for free. You keep your number as long as you use it at least once every 30 days. And it's reliable.
