I have the monitor at arms length distance, and it works fine (for me) - the monitor itself supports 120hz at 1080p for gaming, and I use 4k 60hz for working (work at home as a software dev).
I had a 38 (or 39"?) Dell ultrawide that was curved at my last company and it was no better than my Sony in terms of usability / viewing angles / lack of neck pain.
Bonus for me is I also use the same TV as my bedroom TV when I am going to bed - I have it on a height adjustable mount on my wall so I can lower it to my desk when I am working / gaming, and then raise it up and pull it out to watch TV.
I agree with you mostly (esp at the "neck craning" parts…32" is not prohibitively large whatsoever and these folks must be sitting about 6inches away from their monitor or something) and do own this TV but…
I cant find any verifiable evidence that the Sony supports "120hz at 1080p for gaming". How do you enable this?
I find that the colours/contrast on the Sony panel aren't as good as many Sammies for daily productivity use. I personally use comparable series 6 and series 7 40" UHD monitors as desktop for WFH.
