Before you hate on this post, search for a 3090 (just the card) for less than this price lol
If you're not interested in being a tool and reselling the 3090 on eBay, then you shouldn't go around buying any old pre-built and getting involved in the potential 2500 dollar headache. In fact, this HP is supposed to be particularly bad with cooling and their customer support is widely known to be terrible.

The cooling issue can be solved if you are willing to put some time into it. I personally want this card for machine learning (many large models don't fit on 12 gigs during training). If you don't need one, it's best to wait. If you cannot wait, this is a good deal IMO.

I just want to say I have had 2 HP omen laptops and one the hd had a click of death. They turned it around in a week and didn't hassle me on the phone or charge me for anything
I bought the HP Omen 30L with a 10700K and RTX 3090 for machine learning. This will be difficult to cancel (I tried when my order was delayed but they couldn't) and they wanted a 15% restocking fee if I sent it back unopened because the configuration was customized.
I kept it but haven't used it enough to comment on performance.
You guys are nuts hating on this deal. Am I buying one? No. Are prices massively inflated? Yes. All that said, a quick search of eBay completed listings for "HP rtx 3090" confirms that these GPUs absolutely sell in the range of what you'd pay for this entire system. Obviously if you actually wanted to flip the GPU on eBay and keep the system, you have to factor in tax and shipping and eBay fees (and the fact that it may be 2 months before HP ships this), but this is a very good deal if you have any need for a 3090.
Given the current sale price of gpus, it's probably not a bad deal, but it's really expensive tbh. Also HP charges that restock fee so gonna be a hassle if it goes south.
Also, if you do want to make the GPU not overheat so fast, you need to change the thermal pads so there's that too. Even the 3080s on the HP ones have that heat issue.
This is the best deal now on Amazon: Frosty Ice Cube Plus Thermal Pad - 12.8 W/mK.
