That's odd. To clarify, the brightness percentage reported in Windows does not change, but the brightness will visually change. Maybe yours behaves differently for some reason.
@aajeev - I just remembered one thing - I did not have to install anything extra for the AMD Radeon Software - it was included in the clean install or a subsequent update. So the only thing I had to install after the fact was Lenovo Vantage, but of course Windows will run just fine without that.

Hey thanks for all the input, got the machine about two weeks ago. Overall, I think the machine is amazing. However, I think I'm spoiled for having a thinkpad (from work in the past). I just can't get over the feel of the keyboard, the key travel feels shallow, and I just can't get used to plastic feeling of it. I'd rate this machine a 8-9 for 90% of people. I'm going to return it and wait for a Thinkpad.
