I guess since the Target offer is good until next summer, I could wait and see when Apple stops sending me the $4.99 credit and then cancel so I can do the Target offer.
And, as noted, you can immediately cancel and the free subscription continues to the end. That was NOT true of the free subscription I got with buying an iPhone, which terminated the second you canceled it.

I sign into itunes on my pc just fine. but can't get past this error message when signing into Apple TV. I do have billing address and credit card under my Apple TV
