Apple doesn't ask for any proof. Literally ANYONE can get the discount. The fine print, if I recall, even says parents can buy for themselves.

so sounds like going with apple financing, you get both 3% cash back and apple installments. Normally you get to pick one or the other . I see 0 benefits of paying for your purchase all of it upfront unless you just dont qualify for apple credit or maybe im missing something.

I ordered iPad Pro 11inch (silver) on 06/20. Got my air pods on 06/22 but iPad is still "processing" and my window is July1-9. If I can get it delivered before July I can get apple tv+ for one year as well.

Any body lucky to actually get their product, I think apple is running short on newer IPad Pro and lot of people are returning IPad Pro because Ipad OS renders them useless. Now apple can't sell them refurbished as they have to get rid of older iPad's first. I am also willing to buy 3rd generation 12.9 iPad Pro if it falls below 550 mark.

Is getting the product before July 1st a requirement in order to get the free year of Apple TV +? Not sure about the significance of that based on your reply

It says new device must be register before July 1 for free 1 year subscription. But now it is delayed by a week saying July 5 - 12. Anyway I don't watch apple tv that much and will still get 3 months free subscription.

A hard inquiry on your credit report to save $27? Hard pass!

Now, if you already have the Apple card, then yes, this makes sense for you.

Almost all medical students use iPad Pro 12.9 inch as it helps with split view specially when you are trying to understand anatomy as well as such functions. I was pretty old school note taker and just notes by one aspiring doctor changed my mind 3 years ago.

I think 11 inch should be fine too, and MacBook is secondary. I personally didn't liked ipad keyboard and prefer my cheap MB air. However if you want to avoid MacBook, I would prefer 12.9 as its keyboard and multitasking is closer to a 13 inch laptop.
