This one is refurb around $999 usually on epson website
Also the 4010 I think is around $1300-1400 refurb as well on walmart website.
Those have much better contrast, and much quieter, but just worse gaming and slightly less lighting. Unless someone has to game on their projector I can't see why someone would chose this over the others...
Probably for HDR, gaming and brighter image. Looking at his choices, he is looking for mainly gaming. I have been in the same boat. I actually almost bought used (170 hours) 4010 for 850.
Yes, 3800 has newest HDR, however if you are purely into home theater and don't care about hdr and gaming, go with 4010. It has better lense and motorized lense adjustment stuff
Here we go man..

Wonderful. Btw, I really like the projector coming from epson 2150.
I have the epson 3000. Debating the upgrade. I assume it will be huge going from 1080p to the 4k pixel shift.
Not in a perfectly dark room so the 5050ub seems like overlill

Lastly, note that the refurb policy for Epson is exchange only, so if you have buyer's remorse for that particular model, there are no returns, although I guess you can get around that buying from other sellers.
