I had them match the price from Gwen parker which was already the same and said they also offered 10% off so he had me place the order and then refunded me the difference. Plus Walmart has the better return policy if I decide I want to return it

I think this is the lowest it's been. Quite a deal

No this isn't native 4K but it is twice as sharp as 1080p and it is noticeable. 4K DLP projectors will be sharper but have worse contrast. This Epson 3800 is measured around 2000:1 native contrast and most DLP 4K projectors peak around 1000: native contrast. It also has a dynamic iris which boosts contrast even further. This projector is very bright and can do well with some ambient light, I recommend getting a grey screen with it to maintain contrast and drop black levels. If you are trying to use it more as a dedicated theater projector then I still recommend using a grey screen since it's black floor is kinda high and it's just a bit too bright for a true dark room theater. Only go white if you are projecting on a massive 150"+ plus screen.

This projector also has a ton of lens shift which means placement is super easy and there isn't a need to worry about using keystone correction and distorting the image.

There are reports of this projector being a bit out of focus when using a lot of lens shift. Some users notice it and others don't care. When I demoed it in my space I only noticed it when looking for it. If you are using this with a HTPC and viewing a lot of text then it would be more of a concern.
It seems like there is no option for a epson short throw gaming projector right? I did intensive research and only DLP projectors come up. Can you give me some suggestions?

1080p, ~$1000, short throw, gaming (must have) and watch movie (not very sensitive to the quality). Thanks in advance!

Can you explain why you chose this over the 4010 or 4040 models?

https://epson.com/For-Home/Projec...1H715020MB

This one is refurb around $999 usually on epson website

Also the 4010 I think is around $1300-1400 refurb as well on walmart website.

Those have much better contrast, and much quieter, but just worse gaming and slightly less lighting. Unless someone has to game on their projector I can't see why someone would chose this over the others...

Yep you guessed it, I want decent latency for occasional gaming in addition to good/great picture quality for movies. The 3800 seems like a sweet spot.

Just asked for additional 5% . They gave me.
Thank you! I just did the same and they refunded me $69.

I received the 3800. I switched from a Optoma UHD60, which was more of a side move than an upgrade. It clear that the UHD60 is noticeably sharper than the 3800, but the 3800 has better colors and has higher color brighthness. What I really should have held back for was the Epson 4050, which would have been an upgrade from the Optoma. But the 3800 I prefer to watch over the UHD60, which I used less and less with time.

Sorry for the late reply but no, not really. They have business short throw projectors and then they have ultra short throw home projectors but even the cheapest UST will be too much for you. It's the LS100.

You are going to have to look at DLP. Which DLP is actually really good for gaming and if that's your focus then you should be looking that way anyway. The GT1080HDR, GT1090HDR, and then if you want to almost double your budget and go 4K, the only short throw 4K projector is the TK700STi and it looks like a banger. These all handle HDR. If you don't need HDR then there are more options. Out of the non-HDR handling options, I'd easily pick the BenQ HT2150ST

Call Walmart and ask for a price match like Boris suggested. I was denied a couple times (just keep calling) and they price matched this deal for $1187.19 out the door. Sweet!

Just call them and ask to price match. You may not get the same deal. But this is what they gave me, I didn't ask any questions obviously.

Did you asked for the 5% after you ordered and via email?

Is there a link to the walmart site for this projector? i don't see the 3800 on their website.

Edit: nevermind, i found it. The sold by Walmart was hidden in the search because it was more expensive than third party.

Same here. Tried multiple times. Even placed an order and then tried having them price match but no luck.
