Don't mind explaining that at all. I actually dont like to recommend people use stock trays or strips (e.g. Crest Strips or Opalescent GO). I recommend getting custom trays, because it's way cheaper if you are going to bleach once a month. If you still want to pay more in the long run, then at least Opalescent GO is strong enough to meaningfully whiten teeth.

The reason I don't like Crest White Strips is that they are weak and expensive, but since they are so weak, I at least know a patient is unlikely to call me in horrific pain from hypersensitivity the next day.

Opalescent GO is pretty strong. That's good and bad. On the one hand, it whitens way better than the Crest Strips. On the other hand the strength means much more likelihood of adverse effects. These include peroxide burned gingiva since only custom trays actually fit your teeth, and there is the real possibility of hypersensitivity (shooting acute pain from cold water or even just breathing air) that is present when using in bleaching product. In a dental office, we have ways of handling that condition. That's one of many reasons you should have a dentist before considering placing chemical whiteners on your teeth.

Stronger bleach = more whitening = more potential for adverse effect.

Custom trays mean cheaper bleaching for future treatments and they actually fit your gums to prevent chemical burned gingiva. Some dentists even will make free trays for patients undergoing treatment. They are not a money maker, so dentist don't care to make them except that patient's want them.

Preformed trays equal cheaper initial cost, less adaptation to the tooth, worse adaptation to the gingiva that can result in peroxide burned gums.

I'm a dentist. It's a shame the fans of these strips downvoted you, but everything you said is correct.

The best over the counter treatment is Opalescent GO. It is available from Amazon.

The cheapest route if you are going to bleach a lot is to actually have custom trays made, and then you just buy cheap tubes of peroxide.

If you bleach many times, then these strips are actually the most expensive way to bleach your teeth.

They work, but the treatment isnt fun as you have gooey strips on your teeth while you try to hold back your saliva. Also its nowhere near 'professional dentists treatment', it'll whiten but only a couple of shades and youll likely have uneven, some spotting, etc, also sensitivity. Active ingredient is just hydrogen peroxide, so these are pure profit, ironically just went to the dollar store today and they have generic strips like this, 4 sets for $1, and a gel and tray version, both hydrogen peroxide but more importantly to me they were made in america (im wary of random amazon brands using chinese ingredients), I bought the tray to try it.

I got this one time on sale and it did work to where I feel like I got my money's worth but I was expecting the 1 hour treatment to be better than what it was.

I believe these do not cover your whole teeth. One strip only covers one part like your front teeth. You are better off getting a gel tray or something.

These are so hard to put on and maintain in position for the bottom teeth. Everytime I try I just drool all over them and they slip off right away

Super easy. Get a towel and dry your drool off your teeth then stick em on. I can then slobber and drink water while it's on and it stays on.

Yes, better deal at crests website if you have a 2nd person to go in on it. I wouldn't buy 2 kits because you don't want to do it that often and get sensitive teeth and if you save it too long, they do dry out.

Would you mind commenting why alot of reviews on the Opalescent GO said they had to stop because it really hurt peoples gums and or made them white.
