That's the opposite of my experience. All my 3rd party cables eventually break (won't charge, won't recognize, etc) but the Apple ones never really broke unless they're bent too much and the rubber breaks down. I've never bought Apple cables from Amazon though so it could be like the above comments said, that you got counterfeits

It's all how you handle the cables, I still have my original cable from 6 years ago and works and looks good. My mom on the other hand shreds

No, check that it is not counterfit when you receive it.

Amazzon co-mingles product, so a counterfit seller's items get mixed in with real and seller does not matter.

Is this like a really good deal? I've been only using the one that came with my first gen watch and it still serves me well but I'd like one to travel with. I'm not in a rush clearly so was wondering if this is the lowest I can grab one for.

Try and price match with best buy to avoid getting one of the knockoffs mixed in with the apple ones at Amazon. Yes that apparently does happen

Yea there is, but the watch won't take advantage of fast charging anyway, it's going to be slower than usb a Max or usb c Max outputs

Fifty percent of what Amazon sells comes from China, and its 100% obvious that Amazon has decided to allow counterfeit stuff. Amazon might have a scarecrow policy against fake stuff, but since they are full of fake stuff from all angles its clear Amazon just rolls with it

If you really have that bad of luck I hope you've used their warranty! I had one cable go bad on me in the first year and was in and out of the Apple store with a new one within like 5 minutes.
