They didn't. These are new units with older chips.

CPU in 1-2 core tasks is on par with an AMD Ryzen 3 3200/3250U chip.

Yes, in an awkward highest end of 4 years ago vs the low end of now. Even weirder, because it is the iris graphics from intel I think it actually has better graphics than then the base AMD 3rd Gen Ryzen does. I would like to see them both try to play basic games before putting money on that comment though.
