Good price point, No, naysayers, this should not be $9.99. don't be dumb.

The downside, for me that this, is no where good as The Thousands Year Door for GameCube. Heck this game get no experience points AND the battle against Goombas and his compadres are redundant and a waste of time. I didn't like it after playing it after 5 hours so I sold it for $35 after initial release. I know I know, this just my opinion and I don't expect everyone to believe me or have the same inputs as mine. since nobody has a 2 cents on this game, i might as well go first....

Don't get me wrong. I thought this game is witty and interesting and I did wanted to be open mind but the inevitable not so easy to avoid or skip the battle system was definitely a deal breaker to me.

One warning: This isn't one of the popular Mario platform games nor a modern one like Sunshine, Oddysey and such so don't expect to hold it value over time. Im looking at you, gamers with giant backlog of gaming library.
The combat parts grew tiring, but the game as a whole was super entertaining IMO. I paid full price and didn't regret it.

Wish the Mario + Bowser game is on sale, love the Wii U version so much, it's my favorite Mario game.

Am I the only one annoyed that physical games are always $10-20 cheaper than digital?

For $30 bucks, I jumped on it, even though reviews were lackluster. I'm sure at least one of the kids will enjoy playing it.

I actually prefer this since I have a few kids with switches and they can just share the cartridges versus having to deal with buying the digital version a few times.

You literally just explained why this isn't a good price point. $20 is more realistic.

Wish they had the other Mario games on sale. Will wait for this to get down to 20. Reviews are not great and doesn't look as fun.

I've loved the Paper Mario games, but the combat in this one looked terrible.

I do agree overall that it's not as good as The Thousand Year Door, but I think it comes close. People look at The Thousand Year Door with nostalgia glasses and I don't think anything could be as good for those people today. The fact of the matter is that it did a lot of things that didn't respect the players time and was filled with tedium in both the overworld and the combat.

That's not to say The Thousand Year Door was a bad game, I'd give it a 9/10. Rather I think it's silly people complain about the combat in Oragami King getting tedious when Thousand Year Door wasn't particularly much better in that regard. Battles definitely start to drag towards the end of Oragami King, but I'd still give the game an 8.5/10. It still has tons of wit and charm, looks gorgeous, has some touching story moments, and the music is some of the best in gaming in recent years. Despite any frustrations it's just the type of game to put a smile on your face over and over again.

The wave battles got repetitive, but I loved this game. It was my first in the paper Mario series. Finished it with my 7 year old son. He cried and cried when a certain ally sacrifices itself.
