With the amount of tinkering these printers require it really doesn't matter who you buy it from. That's why clone printers are so popular. Think of this as just a base and add on another $100 of extra parts and upgrades to get it printing just right.

The bl touch is nice. Is it needed no. Actually better to get it and left alone until you get use to printing correctly with your machine and then install that and different firmware

So what's the official consensus on this? Junk because of a third party seller? It cant be any worse than coming from Aliexpress or urlhasbeenblocked, right?

It doesn't but sometimes new 3rd party sellers are selling fakes etc. Take a look at the sellers other items and if they consistently have poor reviews on known products, something is up.

Just generally speaking... I feel like a big concern would be that you may have little to no customer support if there are issues. The company that makes this would maybe claim that it wasn't sold by an authorized seller, and Walmart may say something like it wasn't sold by them... I don't know how Walmart handles it though.
