Sony's tend to have among the best quality picture processing (along with Panasonic which is not available in the US). Sony QA is also superior to Vizio which reduces the chance of failure. On the other hand the Vizio 85 inch size will be far more immersive than a Sony 75 inch, for those who cannot notice the difference in PQ (most people I would think). Am also hoping that Vizio QA on the bigger screen sizes is better than their cheaper models - if they want to maintain a brand name.
How does this compare to the Sony X900H Amazon has on sale?
I haven't bought a new tv in like 8 years so I'm a bit out of the loop
PQX has better picture quality in basically every aspect, but the software is garbage compared to the X900H. Also, the X900H does not display true 4K when gaming so if you game I would go with the PQX.
I made the rounds thsi morning to my Local Sams Club and my Best Buy. I compared Sony, Vizio and Samsung and even some other brands while there. For some reason the Samsung's just seem brighter and more vivid of a picture. Not sure of how well they hold up compared to Sony and Vizio but I'm thinking about buying the 82 inch Samsung
Vizios fail a couple of months after warranty expires. Complaints all over forums. Would rather buy the Sony.
I'm impatiently waiting for my first gen M series 70" to die so I can upgrade. This damn thing has thousands of hours on it and operates like new. We usually leave it on overnight after turning streaming box off because screen is dark and looks like it's off. I disagree with your comment about premature failures. And I got a 5 year warranty that I never got to use.

3 M series 65" are 10 years old and agree these suckers won't die.
With that being said i have a 65" px 1st gen and a 1st gen 75", The 65' already has a dead led zone in the center of the screen and is about 2 ish years old. The 75 is a champ and can't crank the backlight all the way up because you get sunburn!
Looking forward to see what the 2022 series brings.

I second this. My M70-C3 is has been used extensively almost every single day since I bought it in 2015. I basically use it as a monitor with external receiver for sound and either Nvida Shield or Roku for apps, so I don't care about the apps or software updates.

I wish I could say the same about my M-Series 75 inch. I have 5 or 6 dead dimming zones.
I'm sold on Sony. Can anyone provide the link to Amazon where the X900H (presumably the same size) is supposedly on sale for the same price? I can't seem to find it. Thanks.

Thanks OP. I had bought at Costco last month for $2399. Costco (as expected) still held their policy of not price matching. They did set up free return pick up.

Sam's has a 4 yr plan for $129, but it's from the purchase date, so it's not really worth it as you're paying $129 for that 1 extra year..
Wow - Thanks a ton for pointing out the start date. Cancelled that part of my order.
