Tempted with all these nvme drives for my Synology DS918+ but most are not compatible. Anyone have recommendations for how to test if these are compatible or not? And what does compatibility involve?

Well if you trust userbenchmark. I have the P31 and it's about as fast as you can get for a gen3 https://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Com...vsm1217319

According to that they are basically comparable but the hynix won by a couple of percentage points. See which has a longer warranty and go from there. I purchased the hynix before I saw this one so not sure which way I would have gone if I saw this one first.

Nevermind..both 5 years....see which parts of the review are important to you and which scored higher in those sections.

I like 95% of other people here aren't going to be moving files around all day. So imo, this would be the better deal.

Also, the price listed on Amazon is actually 91 dollars.

If I'm not mistaken I think the main selling point for the P31 is the power efficiency for laptops/notebooks.

This is arguably just as good as the P2 deal that just died. Faster + better reliability.

I using an m.2 from adata that isn't on the compatibility list, but still seems to work.
