Deal History
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
This is the "normal discount" price. For example, it was this price three times last year. Didn't spot a historically lower price. The non-health version can be around $60~ on sale.
So you can feel safe buying at this price, or wait & you'll get additional opportunities at this price later (e.g. Black Friday).

By all means, go ahead and send your DNA to this company but remember that you have no control over what happens to it. Read their T&C. It's appalling.
This company makes billions selling your DNA, and charges you for the privilege. They sell your personal information, including your genetic makeup, to the highest bidder and their craftily worded agreement makes it seem like you gave consent.

Well said. As badly as I want this for health and curiosity purposes, I just can't do it based on principle. You are right, they should be paying us for this information.

Thanks! I have already done Ancestry DNA but I since I am trying to figure out who my great-grandfather was, I might as well try 23andMe to see if there are more DNA matches to work with.

The "Health" part is a joke. Don't bother if that's what you're interested in.
If you're interested in the health implications, I recommend you look at an actual medical genetic testing company like Invitae https://www.invitae.com/en/stayin...-our-tests, instead of a recreational genetic testing company like 23andMe. It's pricier but it's far more comprehensive and accurate. 23andMe just "genotypes" a few known-to-be common mutations in genes of interest (which means you'll have a very high false negative rate), where as medical-grade testing companies will sequence the entire gene.
Yes, if you want the version that includes Health data, I've never seen it cheaper than this. I watch all the DNA sales closely (Over the last several years, I've bought about 10x 23andme (5 with Health), 10x FamilyTreeDNA, and about 25x AncestryDNA), and I'd say it sells for 99 once or twice a year. The 23andme non-health version has sold as low as 49 a few times. All 3 of these companies' tests are great in different ways and I highly recommend them, regardless of the fearful doomsayers that love to thread crap on every one of them every time they go on sale. Lol
Swap names all you want but once you provide your DNA, you will be put into the appropriate family tree that you belong to...
Can you explain this further? If they get your DNA and place you accordingly, but you've essentially masked your personal identity by giving a fake name and address wouldn't your privacy still be protected?
I know your DNA would be out there and have been mapped, but I'm trying to understand how they or one of their data buyers can personally identify you based on that.
