The new remote control on the new Apple TV is much better than the remote control on the $99 deal. The remote control alone is worth paying extra the extra $70 for the new Apple TV instead of the $99 deal. Just my opinion, no way I would go back to that old remote now that I have been using the new remote. If you really want an Apple TV, I personally would pass on the $99 deal and get the new model for $169, the upgraded remote control is worth it.
