I've used the fruit/veggie peeler & corer for making apple pies, the pasta roller for homemade pastas of all sorts as long as they're flat, the citrus juicer for fresh orange juice, and the cheese grater.
The only thing that doesn't work great is the cheese grater/shredder. It's only for hard cheeses. Don't try to shred a bunch of a softer cheese like colby jack or havarti, it'll overheat the motor. Then the whole thing shuts down on safety until it cools enough.
So as long as you're not trying to shred a bunch of soft cheese, this should power through anything you throw at it.

Back to this thread:
Most negative opinions of KitchnAids I ever see are either people complaining that bowl lifts are hard to add ingredients to, or that tilt-heads end up with problems (perfect adjustment of attachments vs bowl, or attachment of bowl in face plate.).
The pro series of KitchenAids are absolute workhorses. I'm really contemplating biting on this deal. My tilt-head artisan is pissing me off because the flutes in the base of the bowl are slightly deformed, and it results in quickly wearing out baseplates and having the bowl become detached. I just haven't been able to stomach the price of a new bowl when I know I damaged it by kneading too much dough, and I feel like I'll just wreck the next tilt-head bowl that I get by doing the same thing. I'd rather upgrade to the bowl lift, have more power, and a much more secure mechanism to lock the bowl in.
In other words, what I'm saying is that these products are absolutely bulletproof and KitchenAid backs them with easy repairability and parts availability for decades.

If anybody has experienced this issue before and/or can think of a fix, I'm all ears. I've taken it apart again yesterday to see if I could figure out what's causing this, and I can't make heads or tails of it.
