This system is great. I have well water which didn't taste good and after I installed this I now prefer the taste over bottled water.

I bought the version with permeate filter for $360 at HD. Installed it myself with basic tools. The only thing that may get tricky is drilling the hole on a stone countertop if there isn't already one.

Pretty happy with the product. It's well packaged and instructions are clear.

If anyone is on the fence, I have one of these that I finally moved out of the kitchen (I bought a model that remineralizes as last stage, which I didn't think I'd like but now appreciate.) The only negative is this unit doesn't have a pump (to raise lower incoming water pressure, which theoretically increases efficiency/production speed.)

I reinstalled it in another room ... but be mindful to change filters routinely. I know APEC uses coconut husk in the filters, and over time the plastic does (housing the filters) tends to discolor on the inside and needs a good scrub.

Solid unit.
