The air doesn't have a fan and a touch bar. Performance wise there is no difference. Maybe some performance throttling if laptop is too hot but I heard m1 chip has very low heat emission.

Costco adds a 2nd year to the mfgr's warranty for free. Maybe Amazon does too, but I wouldn't know.

16GB is a world of difference. I got the bouncing ball all the time on 8GB. Computer is a dream on 16GB.

I would recommend to take model with 16Gb ram, I think no big matter pro or air
with 8gb you can't open too many browser tabs, it run out of memory (ram)
