Based on my experience with this drill, it's a classic case of "buy it nice or buy it twice."

Black & Decker was good about the first warranty return, but my drill was still busted right when I needed it...

Great drill for ppl getting unto DIY or want an electronic drill with spending a too much. Keep in mind this drill will only get you so far. For basics such as assembling a desk, drilling drywall, minor tightening of bolts and screws. Once you start tackling masonry and harder materials, this drill won't cut it. Rule of thumb is to buy once and then stick to a brand so you can interchange batteries among tools.

I'll echo this. Mine broke a couple days into a move. Only had it a year and hardly every used it. Went and bough a Dewalt instead.

The B&D tools on Amazon are absolute bottom of the barrel. Having said that, I bought a sander and jigsaw for $40 total after $10 Amazon credit for reloading my gift card. If they break, I'll live, and if I get some mileage out of then in the interim, I'm happy. For a basic drill, this is probably fine.

Black and Decker is junk. Spend a little more, take the heat from the wife in the short run, and enjoy your nice driver for years to come. Go with this one and don't look back. You'll have it the rest of your life.

Get a good drill. You'll need it.

Some of the black and decker power tools are solid. The jigsaw, pole saw, sander, and probably many other tools are more than exceptable for most tasks and are great budget options.

The drills though are junk and will leave you wanting more power.
