Eligible Prime members who make a purchase in the Amazon mobile shopping app in the offer period are eligible to receive a coupon for up to $70 USD in Amazon credit. Customers who (i) spend $200 USD will receive a coupon for $15 USD, (ii) spend $300 USD will receive a coupon for $25 USD and (iii) spend $600 USD will receive a coupon for $70 USD, to use towards purchases on Amazon in accordance with these terms.
Gift card purchases, fees, taxes, discounts, gift wrap and shipping and handling costs are excluded when determining the total amount spent. Customers will not receive credit for cancelled or returned orders.

Get 15 when you spend 200 = 15 / 215 = 7.0 %
Get 25 when you spend 300 = 25 / 325 = 7.7 %
Get 70 when you spend 600 = 70 / 670 = 10.4 %
And yes, you have to include the future purchase in the calculation because these are credits, not discounts.

I was hoping to get gift cards counted, this kills the deal for many.
It's
15/200 = 7.5%
25/300 = 8.34%
70/600 = 11.67%
first of all if you plan to spend that much money, better to your dd so that the chance of having to return something is small.
secondly if you do have to return, amazon usually offers exchange so you get to keep your promotional credit
thirdly if you do have to return $500 out of a $700 purchase, don't assume amazon will be stupid. most merchants will pro-rate the discount or the promotional gift. also amazon has complicated algos to flag accounts for abuses.
