I plan to pay for a subscription after the trial is done — maybe a couple months a year. They don't have enough content to subscribe all the time. But I've enjoyed several of their shows as much as anything on Netflix — Dickinson, For All Mankind, Little America, Mythic Quest, Trying, and of course Ted Lasso.

I have been getting an apple tv credit every month for the last 8-9 months came out of nowhere and haven't had to pay. Just got a new Mac from work and was able to use that to stack a year on top of the credits

What a nightmare.

So, we bought the new AppleTV. I went to activate the service and it said "log into iTunes and add a payment method." So, I logged into iTunes and saw that I had a payment method, but it was out of date, so I added one.

Well, upon trying to activate the free year on my appletv, it said (again) add a payment method.

So, I called Apple.

They had me log into applied. Well, that place had a different payment method, so I tried to change it, and it said "Apple uses two factor authentication" at that point it would normally send a challenge to your logged in iPhone or tablet, but I have neither...so, (this is brilliant) it asked me for the security code for the payment method they had on file (which I no longer have, which is why I was trying to update said payment method).

So, basically, if you have no other apple device than an appletv, AND you lose your credit card, you cannot update the payment method and/or activate your service.

So, they ended up giving me a code for a free year. Which I could only activate by logging into someone else's tablet changing my payment method and then redeeming the code, so basically I still had to have another apple device to change my payment method.

Just started my 1 year subscription after seeing this. I got a new phone about a month ago and just had the offer sitting. Did not want to chance it changing in July even though it seems it would not have since it states activation of device date.

Super frustrating you cannot turn off auto renew though. Looks like I am counting on you google calendar.

Bought an iPad Pro in march. There was a notification for 1 year free but i was waiting for a different account trial to end in July. Saw this post so I went to redeem and offer is no longer there. Only a 7 day trial offered. Any suggestions?

Had mine for a while, but not much on there. It expires July 25th for me. Ted Lasso is pretty great, but like others said, I might just wait till all episodes are on. So many streaming options, and even at $5 a month, just not enough there.

Apple TV+ used to be available for free with Apple Music (Student). Does anyone know if this will persist or what happens for someone with Apple Music (Student) when the free TV+ trial ends?

My parents pay for the Apple One plan and have my gf and I on their family account. Apple Music is the only service that gets used regularly for me, the rest is a nice bonus.

I wish Apple would've tried to get rights to existing content or something. Disney+ feels like a much better deal because people know what they're getting. Apple TV+ is kind of a gamble in that way, which is probably why the trial ever existed.

You can only redeem it once per apple account. I bought a new iphone eariler this year and redeemed it... bought an apple tv earlier this week and there's no way to redeem it again.

Nope. T+Cs are one time per account (including family). In other words once your trial ends, you cannot activate another.
